Discover Croatia

There is so much to explore in this vast and varied region

Croatia is a Mediterranean nation that has enjoyed a resurgence in tourism in recent years, and many tourists are now opting to explore this historic country during their trips. Travelsupermarket.com describes Croatia as having “something to suit all holidaymakers and a truly Mediterranean atmosphere, Croatia has universal appeal.”

The vast and varied landscape of Croatia means there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy. From the ancient port city of Dubrovnik and the picturesque Adriatic coastline, to the multitude of Croatia national parks - including the UNESCO recognised Plitvice Lakes, with spectacular turquoise lakes nestled amongst the Dinaric Alps - there is much to explore in this vast and varied nation.

The Adriatic coastline is a popular destination for tourists who are looking to take a break in the Mediterranean conditions, flocking to resorts all along the coastline, including coastal cities such as Zadar, Split and the walled city of Dubrovnik.

Holidays in Croatia are also becoming more popular with family groups, with a number of resorts along the coast and a wide range of picturesque villas available to rent.

Dubrovnik is a popular tourist attraction, with it’s collection of monuments and churches within the historic city walls. The city plays host to an annual Summer Festival - during which the city comes alive with a two-month long celebration of live music, opera and theatre productions.

The city is also a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, with a number of centres that offer boat tours to nearby islands, as well as water-skiing and scuba diving excursions.

The warm waters of the Adriatic Sea are a draw for those looking to sail and explore a number of islands off the Croatian coast, including Brac and Otok Krk. The region is also popular as a scuba diving destination, with a wide variety of dive sites to explore - including wrecks and reefs.

Further inland, Croatia has a number of ancient castles to explore, and the capital city Zagreb is a popular destination for city breaks and as a stopover for many of the ski resorts in the neighbouring mountain ranges.

Zagreb is a city which has a rich cultural mix, from beautiful modern architecture to historic cobbled streets lined with museums and art galleries.

Whether you’re looking to relax on the beaches of the Adriatic coastline, explore ancient cities or take a hike through picturesque national parks, there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy in Croatia.
